Fit Friday: Edition 1

Let me quickly just say, THANK YOU to those of you whole commented and emailed yesterday with your uplifting words and prayer. It warms my heart and I'm just so thankful you took the time to do that. You're all wonderful!

Welcome to Fit Friday numero uno! I'm so excited! I can't wait to take this journey and share it with you along the way. More importantly I hope some of you may join in with me and share your journey too!

Today marks the end of my first week doing my new routine and I loved it! I'm really sore, but I feel fantastic! Today is also a rest day for me because I hit it hard all week and I'm running a Color Me Rad 5k tomorrow. I'm so excited! I hope this happens to me!

 
The first day sucked pretty badly and I was extremely sore the next morning, but it was so worth it because by today I feel amazing. I feel more energized, my head feels clearer, I can already see a difference in my body (loss of water weight - I have peed like one bazillion times). I know there will be tough days, but I want to remember if I can already see and feel changes within a week, I can't imagine what I'll feel like 5 weeks from now!

Here is an example of what a typical day's meals looks like. Like I said in the video I will follow this daily, but there will be exceptions. Date night means cocktail, monthly gift means I get a handful of chocolaty trail mix. This is a lifestyle change, not a boring diet, forget all things yummy, I'm going to be miserable change.

Ex. Meal plan
8:30am: Cup of coffee & a bowl of Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and granola
Workout
11:00am: Protein shake with Whey protein powder and almond milk or coconut water
1:00pm: Salad with some type of protein (chicken/turkey) and fresh veggies
3:00pm: Lara bar or two chicken muffins (I know you're thinking gross, but yummm is the correct term! I'll share the recipe next week!)
6:00pm: Lean turkey burger on Ezekial bread with kale chips
8-9:00pm: Cup of tea with 1/2 packet of Stevia
*Shooting for 72oz of water a day. 

This is just an example! I love food, so I have to change it up constantly to stay motivated. I hope to find and share many clean recipes with you in the future.

Here is an example of what the workouts look like. I thought I'd take a picture everyday to motivate me even more and see the way my body changes. Do what ya gotta do when it comes to motivation!


Yesterday I talked about seizing the day. Start now! I'm so excited to be making this lifestyle change. I have already loved this first week! I encourage you to try to make a change for 1 week. That's it. Cut out the soda, unnecessary sugars, do a small workout for 5 days and see how you feel! You might feel so great you decide you want to keep on truckin'. If so let's do it together!

  2. I love this! Such a great idea to post it every Friday. I'm super jealous of your Colour Run! I've always wanted to do one of those! Well...I'm not a great runner, so maybe a Colour Walk haha! But I love all those bright colours! Amazing! Hope you have an incredible time!

  3. First of all...you are so damn cute!!! Second...what a great idea. I really need to start focusing more on eating better. I've tried to make changes this last week and wasn't completely successful but today is a new day. I would love to focus on clean eating, not 100% but most of the time, so recipes would be great. Can't wait to read more!

  6. Love this! I just started Insanity a few days ago (finished day 3- day 4 is when I get off work) I definitely love the meal suggestions. I'm a college student which means soooo much temptation with pizza and McDonald's but your entire list just looks so tempting. Definitely going to be following you! :)

  7. You are so sweet! Love your vlog! I just started following you. I have just gotten into the 80/20 clean eating lifestyle as of 2 months ago plus adding in supplements and a more consistent exercise plan and I'm seeing awesome changes. I'd love to see what your strength training program entails. Thanks for blog, love it!
