A Day In The Life | My Routine

2.17.2014
Prepare to have your minds blown. I just know you all have been sitting there, scratching your heads and wondering, "what on earth does that girl do all day?". Well, I'm about to give your scalps some relief! I used to enjoy drinking wine at noon in my bath tub, taking naps on the couch with my poochie pies and gallivanting around town with friends all day. Then real life hit.

Last week I began working full time for our businesses at our store in town. We are running our businesses solo so the luxury of having employees and being able to work from home is over. I am having to adjust to having a 9:00 to 5:00 job again. I don't mind it a bit actually, I think I get more done this way. But I tend to be a gal of routine and I'm having to learn a new one all over again. How to balance both of our businesses, this here blog, our home and try and keep a social life all while keeping my head on straight can be a bit much, but if I stick to a routine I am much more comfortable and 99.9% less crazy.

So here's how my day goes down.
schedule, routine, tulip, flowers, blogger

6:45 - 7:15
coffee & devotion
I'm pretty sure I go to sleep with the anticipation of morning coffee. There is enough anxiety and rushing throughout the day that I like to start my morning quietly, when the hubs and the dogs are still asleep. I sneak into my favorite chair with my steaming cup of coffee and scroll through my Instagram feed before reading my daily devotion. My two favorites are Jesus Calling and She Reads Truth.

7:15 - 8:30
workout & getting ready
Lets be honest. This rarely happens, but when it does, I'm always a much happier person for it. Nine times out of ten, you can still find me sitting on the couch at this time waiting until the last minute to jump in the shower. All just to listen to Jon whimper and whine that we are going to be late.

8:50
still getting ready
Meanwhile you can find Jon sitting in the the car with it running and the occasional honk of the horn.

9ish - 5:00
workin'/twerkin/hustlin
I really wish that had rhymed. We stay pretty busy since it's just the two of us <<anyone else break into song right there? Nope. Just me? Cool. >> Anywho, I find time to sneak in my blog reading and emails throughout the constant chaos, but it makes the day go by faster so I'm cool with it.

6:00
din-din
When I make it. Depends on how my weekend went and if I actually prepared ahead and went to the grocery store with the sole purpose of getting the items necessary to make a full meal. Usually I just get distracted and come home with sour patch kids and beer.

7:00 - 7:30
bubble bath
This girl doesn't mess around when it comes to her bubble bath. Which you probably already know considering my Instagram feed tells you so on a constant basis. #sorryimnotsorry

7:30 - on
everything else
According to what program is on - helloooo Bachelor - my nightly schedule is up in the air. But it usually consists of the next days blog post, laundry, cuddle time, Pinterest and bedtime at a decent hour because I'm an old lady and a witch in the morning without sleep.

Impressed with my glamorous life? Hey, it is what you make of it!

PS. I'm contemplating getting prego just so I can be a stay at home mom... But then again I should probably think that through...

PPS. You can find me over at Life Could Be A Dream telling you all about what's it like in my new business venture owning a boutique.

  2. I love that you take a bubble bath every day! My parents would probably kill me if I tried that, what with the CA drought!

  3. Glad to know I'm not the only busy bee in blogland! What is your business in town, anyway?? I feel like I should know this :P PS, as much as the idea of SAHM/WAHM sounds appealing right now, I'm pretty sure it only gets appealing after year 1. Infants are a ton of work!

  4. Your comment about getting prego made me laugh, I've totally told my friends that until I find a job I really love, I'm gonna plan to have Babies sooner and sooner so I can stay home!

  6. I want to be a stay-at-home mom, too... but without the kids part. And I'm super envious of your morning workouts. I'm trying to get up early enough to exercise, but it just never happens. Blah. Have a fabulous week!

  7. Seriously what is life without bubble baths? My boyfriend looked at me like I was a crazy person for wanting to take a bath while we were on our mini vacation this weekend. He just wanted to take shots. Men don't understand.

  8. The prego comment has be cracking up! I've told my husband over and over that I just want to be a stay at home wife. He doesn't see the reasoning behind it.

  11. Jesus Valling is my fav devo. And I wish I could say I work out in the mornings or at all for that matter! I am going to start going to Zumba to shake my groove thang! I am finally a SAHM and its still super busy, but my daughter is 3 now and is so imaginative and plays so well independently that I can work on my small biz and blog or whatever, but the first 2 years are much harder for sure but absolutely worth it. We want to get pregnant again but if I'm honest, there are days where I am perfectly content with just Stella and the fun age she is now, and there are other days I kinda miss the baby stage.

    1. Calling...not Valling! Is valling even a word? Why would my phone autocorrect to that?! Hah
