Find Refreshment.

2.26.2014

When something speaks to me, I want to share it. I always have the feeling in my heart that when something has touched or moved me, it may move one other person who needed to hear it. Then I've accomplished something in the day :)

Each of these two passages are from the Jesus Calling devotional book. I know I've mentioned this book many times, but it really has relevant devotions that hit home for me. And as of lately, with the schedule changes in my life and finding time for everything (while realizing I'm not super woman), pieces from this book have lifted my spirits and these passages are what I reflect on consistently.

Come to Me for rest and refreshment. The journey has been too much for you, and you are weary. Do not be ashamed of your exhaustion. Instead, see it as an opportunity for Me to take charge of your life. Where you are at this point in time is where I intend you to be. You will get through today one step, one moment at a time. Your main responsibility is to remain attentive to Me, letting Me guide you through the many choices along your pathway.

Rest in my presence, allowing Me to take charge of this day. Do no bolt into the day like a racehorse suddenly released. Instead, walk purposefully with Me, letting Me direct your course one step at a time. Thank Me for each blessing along the way; this brings joy to both you and Me. A grateful heart protects you from negative thinking.

In everything give thanks, for this is My will for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18

My prayer for you and myself is that wherever we are in life, we accept that this has been pre-planned by our Creator and He always does what's best for us. Lean on Him in desperate times and moments of weakness. He is the only place we will regain the strength we need to preserver.

Feel free to Pin the image above for your reminder and to spread the word that someone may need to hear today.

Loving all of you!

  6. Jesus Calling always speaks right to my heart. I have a long, stressful day ahead of me and definitely needed to hear this - especially "You will get through today one step, one moment at a time. Your main responsibility is to remain attentive to Me, letting Me guide you through the many choices along your pathway" - so thank you for sharing!

  7. Oh I love this. It's so hard sometimes to just rest in the "unknowns" of life...I tend to worry to overplan to go crazy without an iota of control...I love Jesus Calling and how it can 100% apply to every day life. Thanks for sharing this. Xx.

  8. So many days I feel like I have so much to do and I bolt into the day like a race horse suddenly released. The days I walk purposefully with Him and make time for Him are the days it seems I am more productive, and I know it's no coincidence. I don't know why I find myself acting like a race horse though over and over again! Thanks for sharing. Today was one of those race horse days, and I didn't read my Jesus Calling devo, so this was a great reminder! I do agree about that devotion really hitting home every time!
