Dear Hubby,

3.05.2014
I owe you an apology. I have been a selfish, whiny and ignorant wife for the last few days. Nothing of which you deserve. I'm sorry for letting one hateful customer ruin my attitude for the day, in turn making me a grouch to deal with. And for not having the energy to do anything when I get home and just crawling onto the couch or into bed and falling asleep. I'm sorry for not making you warm meals and sharing conversation while eating them. And for not spending quiet moments in the night cuddling you. I'm sorry for doing my hair two out of five days leaving me looking rough! More than anything, I'm sorry for not making you top priority in my life right after Jesus.

But I have to tell you, you are amazing. Beyond what I ever dreamed of in a husband. Your heart is pure gold and you have made me feel like your queen. I am going to be more intentional about being the wife you deserve around the clock, not just when it's convenient.

Thank you for understanding we are in an adjustment stage of our life right now and I'm having a hard time adjusting to the change.
Thank you for trying to carry burdens so I don't have to.
Thank you for treating me like a queen every day and making me special.
Thank you for meeting me with a smile and a kiss first thing in the morning.
Thank you for telling me I'm beautiful every single day.
Thank you for eating ham and cheese sandwiches because I don't feel like cooking again.
Thank you for wanting to spend quiet time together and doing your best to make that happen.
Thank you for lifting me up when I feel like I'm falling.
Thank you for reminding me The Lord is the center of our relationship and our hearts.

I've won the jackpot with you, hubs. Somehow I love you more now than I did over 2 years ago and my love will only grow stronger ♥
All my heart,

  1. Glad to know more couples are dealing with rough patches and somebody is willing to admit their shortcomings. Now excuse me while I pray for the courage to apologize to my hubby. :)

  7. I looove this post! I think it's always good to have a little reminder once in a while. I was such a stress case with moving, and Daniel deploying that I feel like I wasn't the best wife I could have been in his last weeks before leaving. Feeling pretty crummy and guilty about it now.

  19. I have definitely had those moments. Had one yesterday, actually. Then I have to apologize for being a cranky pants. I think admitting things like this, though, is pretty spectacular and is definitely what makes you a really awesome wife!

  20. You did your hair twice, that's twice more than me - LOL!!!! Your husband must have loved this post especially because it was a public apology=) I hope you are feeling better after that customer. Sucks that someone else made your last few days troublesome. It was incredibly sweet of you to apologize to him.

  22. Can I cry now? This was so perfect! It takes a lot to admit fault and (even though I'm obviously not married) I am really trying to work on that.

  23. I have been not the best wife either. This move has been crazy. I might borrow the idea.

  24. This post is like the story of my life. In constant need of apologizing for being the undeserving wife I am of a great husband. Thankfully, he doesn't agree with that statement, but boy can I be completely selfish. I hate when I come to that realization. I try to give myself grace. It's hard to do sometimes, isn't it? Also, you two are adorable, and I love that Chris is the center of your marriage!
