The Balancing Act

5.28.2014
This is where I'll be spending my Summer. I swear year after year the view never gets old.
Do you know how long it's been since I've read a blog? Or checked my email? Or sat down and organized my thoughts?

Too long.

When each day seems to fill up quicker than it started, I find myself running on empty, struggling to keep up around here. Blogging has sort of been put on the back burner for me in the midst of everything right now. Not because I want to, but because she isn't making millions of dollars and is simply a hobby, I can't justify cutting out a huge amount of time for her.

Due to the lack of time and commitment right now I have taken down my sponsorship options because I can't adequately give the sponsoree the advertising they deserve. Not to my standards anyway. I hope to bring back these options in the future :) I'm still looking for the light at the end of the tunnel!

Don't get me wrong, life is good right now! Our businesses are thriving and in need of our undivided attention. Yesterday Jon and I joined Planet Fitness because of our lack of energy and need of a change. The first night of working out hard after work and I immediately came home at 9pm and did dishes, laundry, prepared the next days food, and showered. This may not sound like much to you, but normally we are so dead I try to pump out a blog post and crawl straight into bed and pass out. I think this will be great for us! Now that Summer is basically here, we will be spending more and more days at the lake house, which makes my heart swoon!

Just bear with me friends. I may not respond to your emails right away. I may not be reading your blog as often as I'd like. But I'm here! Just not in full force like before. I'm learning to prioritize in life right now and family, health and business have taken the top spots of my attention.

LOTS of hugs and kisses, pretty ladies! (And gents if there are any. Just hugs for you though.)

Do you struggle with keeping up? Or prioritizing?

PS. Don't forget to enter the Tone It Up prize package giveaway. It's the last day and a great package worth $110!

  6. Oh what a gorgeous photo- what a great place to spend the summer! I can already see that keeping up with blogging now that it's nice out is going to be a bit more of a challenge, but it sounds like you have your priorities right where they need to be for you for now :)

  7. It's so hard blogging and keeping up with daily life! I sometimes find myself overwhelmed so I try and take the weekend to just have me time. I go to the gym after work too and it sucks getting home so late, eating dinner then feeling like you still have a ton of stuff to do! Sometimes I think you just need to take a break for a few days and recuperate!

  9. Something about this time of year makes me feel crazy busy too! I've been getting behind on responding to blog comments, which I hate, but I think I'm finally caught up! And since I've gotten back into a gym routine, I feel so much better and I'm much more productive after my workout! P.S. that view is just amazing! xo

  10. Oh girl, I totally get it! Life just gets crazy and sometimes you need to focus more of your energy on some things rather than others. And that's totally okay :)

  11. I constantly struggle with keeping up with life... but life keeps going on, so you just keep rolling with it.

Good for you & hubs joining Planet fitness - take care of you first :)

  12. Girl, don't you stress. We all get it :) ENJOY life with your hubby, it'll all settle soon. Since Dustin started his new job last week and I made a couple changes, I finally feel like we are managing a little better now, but I spent months stressed and tired! It's no fun, but life happens. Oh girl, that lake picture, I'd want to be there 24/7!

  13. We've all been there and completely understand!! If only our blogs made a million dollars so they could be our sole focus :) Enjoy this time with your family and that is beyond awesome that your businesses are doing so well!!!

  14. I'll miss you full-time, but it's great you know what you need to do to manage some of the craziness. Way to join a gym! I totally need to start working out again. Like, before it's time for wool ponchos again to hide it all ha. XOXO

  15. Finding the balance is hard! I don't know how people with a full time job (like you) juggle blogging as well. Blogging is my full time job and I struggle to keep up too!

  16. I'm right there with ya, girl! I set my monthly focus to take better care of myself, and for that reason (and many others, which I hope to blog about soon) blogging has been put on the backburner. I'll get back to it eventually! But for right now we need to enjoy life as much as we can, even when it's crazy!

  17. I thought about maybe taking a blogging break, but lately I have just been posting less instead. Blogging really is more time consuming than I ever expected it to be. I love it, but I do have other priorities right now.

  18. I just took a blogging break. I need to get back in the swing of posting. I don't think I'm going to take sponsors for awhile. All the true readers will stay with you.

  21. I haven't read blogs in weeks (with the exception of today). I've been concentrating on growing my business instead... The blog is just a hobby. I've been blogging on/off for 12 years, but consistently for the past five years. It seems like it is the first time that I didn't really miss it or make it a priority. I mean, I love it... My main motivation of blogging is to remember my life, but I've been out there "working" my business.

  22. Nice content! The writing process enables concepts become more understandable to readers. It is further broken down as: pre-writing, writing, reviewing, revising and editing.how to write an essay

  23. Yes!!! You KNOW I understand this, girlfriend!! I suspect blogging will take a backseat this summer as we soak up our days together. It's really hitting me that this is Collins last summer before school starts & I dint want to miss a thing by adding blogging pressure. So, I too may be a little more quiet, but I'm here & love ya :)

  24. Oh my gosh I feel you!! I've been suuuuuuper behind and I'm just now getting back in to it, but my new apartment is a mess since I just moved and my life is just crazy! I took down my sponsors as well. You'll figure it out soon, though! Sometimes life hits us hard and I find that when one thing goes wrong, it all does, but then it all gets better soon, too!
