Skincare Routine Currently

SKINCARE | ELIZABETH ARDEN

Do you ever hit a plateau with your skincare routine? Recently this happened to me and I needed to shake things up a bit. I've been an Olay girl for years (10 to be exact) true and true, but I noticed it wasn't doing the job anymore a couple of months ago. I was getting more break outs than normal, it wasn't removing all of my makeup and my skin looked dull. I switched to Neutrogena because I had always heard great things. Weeks passed and still, no changes in my skin. So I did some digging and found Elizabeth Arden. An affordable, yet highly reviewed skincare line.

I actually found the cleanser, toner and mask at TJMaxx and decided to give it a whirl. In a weeks time I saw a noticeable difference in my skin. I use the cleanser and toner every morning and night. I incorporate the mask 1-2 times a week. I still have my Neutrogena facial lotion with SPF that I use each morning because I can't stop using it before it's empty. I'm nerdy that way.

I should also say that I am drinking a few bottles of water every day too. This makes a huge difference for my skin. So that could be helping too.

Do you have a skincare line you've used and loved? I'm interested to know! Are you like me and have used the same products for 10 years?

  1. I love Elizabeth Arden products too girl, and I really love finding great ones at TJ Maxx :) I don't have anything I've used for a super long time, mainly because I just love trying new things too much haha. I have repurchased my Philosophy Take a Deep Breath moisturizer though, it is a great day time moisturizer for my oily skin!

  2. I find that I have to switch up my skincare routine every 6 months or so. Products will work amazingly and then next thing I know I'm breaking out like a greasy teenager again :-P

I never thought to check out skincare products at TJ Maxx... I'm going to have to look next time I'm there!

  7. I'm more the kind of people who never buys the same bottle twice--just uses something till it's gone and then looks for the next best thing. :P But I have been sticking to "Yes to Carrots" for a while now and finding that I like them.

  9. I'm definitely in the plateau stage with my skincare routine and having the same issues (dullness and breakouts) and I've been using the same stuff for at least 10 years! Time to switch it up! I'll have to give this a try. You are the second person I've heard say they find good stuff at TJ Maxx! I see a shopping trip there in my future! Thanks for sharing!

  10. I love that you can find these great brands at TJ Maxx for a fraction of the price!! I like to use different products on my face to sort of keep it guessing, but the one product I'm loyal to is St. Ives apricot scrub, I've used it for years!

  12. Why do I always forget to check TJ Maxx/Home Goods for stuff. I am in the area for a new skin care routine. I have been using my Philosophy face wash and Naturals by Neutrogena moisturizer. I barely started getting into make up so I wouldn't really use anything to clean my face besides water. My husband has a bad habit of pointing out my stress bumps on my face, so I decided it was time to take the plunge but this is the only skin care I have been using and I think I am also hitting a plateau. Thanks for the recommendation.

  13. I've been using my La Roche Posay face wash for 6 years now and every time I try something new, I remember why I don't stray! I'm hoping it works forever! I recently started using CeraVe moisturizers and looove those (and the price). I've heard a lot of great things about Elizabeth Arden products - glad you found something that works for you!

  15. I love how you keep it SIMPLE. Too many products/steps and I'm done. I try to use toner but forget more often than I remember. A good cleanser, the Mia and lots of water are for sure lifesavers!

  17. I've been using Cetaphil lately and really like it. I have to use this intense stuff for my acne with is annoying and really potent, but it's been working!
I like this idea for a post, I might have to share!

  19. I've used Clinique toner and moisturizer for ever but really struggled with breakouts the past year or so. I'm awful about keeping a good skincare routine and know that would help but maybe I should switch products. Has this helped with your breakouts?
