Tour Through Blogland || Next Stop, Here.

9.01.2014
Holy September 1st and Happy Labor Day! I'm enjoying this extension of relaxation a bit too much. If you are anything like me you are trying to figure out how you can finagle a three day weekend, every weekend! If you have a "lightbulb" moment please do share.

You may have seen this cute little Tour Through Blogland taking place on some of your favorite blogs. Where bloggers are sharing a glimpse into their home for nosy folk like us. Who are we kidding? All bloggers are slighlty nosy or why else would we be reading into someone else's life. No shame, y'all!
I was invited by the lovely Lauren from 34 Magnolia Street to share my home. And just in time for my Fall decorations :)
Jon and I are old farts who like to spend nights at home 'front porch rockin'

Our dining room is one of my favorite rooms in the house. We love hosting get-togethers and having friends and family gathered around the table. This room connects to the kitchen as one big space so it's nice to be able to be cooking and still be part of the crowd. Funny story about this table, when Jon and I started dating there was a small card table in this room with one chair. I was appalled. So because I knew early on I was going to marry Jon I went ahead and built him this table with my dad for Christmas knowing it would be mine someday :) Sneaky, I know!

Our living room is a color I NEVER would have picked out (I'm a neutral gal, not warm color gal), but Jon had already painted the walls before we met so naturally when we married I begged to change the color of this room. He asked that it be the only room that I didn't change because he loves the color. I obliged considering I did turn the rest of the house upside down. I did add the beige, brown, turquoise and yellow accents to jazz it up a bit. There is still work to be done in this room. I'll be making a gallery wall above the couch where the obnoxious NYC painting is. We will be doing work to hide those hideous cords to the left of the TV, that hideous corner lamp is going far far away and more pillows will be purchased for that bare couch. Let's face it, the more pillows the better!

I hate the awful yellow lighting this picture is portraying, but oh well! The last and favorite room I'm sharing, the master. This is the only picture I'm going to share because it's about the only thing that isn't changing in this room. I love my bedspread and DIY headboard and my throw pillows and of course my Bumpnest - aka - a pregnant woman's Heaven! I'll be changing the wall color, furniture, accesories, wall fixtures, everything. But this is my oasis after a long day.

I hope you've enjoyed a sneak peak into my home sweet home! But wait, there's more! Next Monday the tour will be stopping with these ladies below so make sure to check them out.

Jana has become a close friend in Blogland. I wish this girl and I were neighbors on a regular basis. This wife and mommy shares amazing blogger tips, mouth watering recipes, beautiful style posts and did I mention she does amazing blog design? She's kind of a jack of all trades! We have a similar style so I can't wait to see a peak into her home :)

Mia from Make Me Up Mia

Mia is another one of those gals I feel like I have grown up with. She's basically a sister! You will probably feel the same after reading her lifestyle blog. She shares from the heart and I love her for it. This gal also knows make-up and she shares her tips for the rest of us amateurs! I can't wait to see her home!

  7. I love your table and the one bench along the side--we always talked about getting a table in that sort of style with a long bench on one side and chairs on the other, but we never invested in a table to keep for decades. Looks like the kind of table it would be awesome to have a meal at! And I actually really like the color of the room that Jon doesn't want you to paint.
