A Formal Complaint, Maternity Jeans & A Giveaway

Handmade Fall Scarf by Provision Shop

I did it. I found maternity jeans! And now I'm one happy lil' momma bear with a cozy, spandex space for her cub to grow. If my babe could speak to me he/she would probably say, "thank you mom. I was starting to wonder what that indention was in your stomach." The button on my jeans were seriously starting to make an indention.

But I do have a bone to pick with retail stores. Why on earth is it so stinking hard to find maternity clothes that don't consist of a moo-moo or spandex, white washed pants that look like they are from a horror movie in the 70's? I had to drag my poor husband around to every stinking store in town looking for one pair of jeans! I have what I call a "whiner" husband. The first store we step in he starts whining, "I'm tired. How much longer?" I guess I'll be prepared for a toddler...

Where was I? Oh yeah, the bones I have to pick.

Target, you are totally missing a HUGE market. Like, words can't even express how dumbfounded I am at your lack of maternity clothing. Step it up.

Old Navy, I've never been so appalled. One pair of XL maternity jeans and a sweater that hung to my knees. That's it? You should take your "maternity" sign down in shame.

Motherhood Maternity, thank you. Thank you for coming through for me. Although you were my last stop because I was hoping to find a cheaper alternative, you were the only one to make my heart skip a beat instead of sink to my butthole. The second pair I tried on were perfection. Thank you Jessica Simpson for creating fashionable, semi-affordable jeans for preggo ladies.

In more important news did you check out that scarf I'm wearing above? That's my gal pal, Mary. She has started up a fabulous Etsy shop offering these beauties at such an affordable price! Don't even mind how stunning she is. It burns me up too!

If you could get your greasy paws on it you would be even more jealous. These scarves should come with a warning label reading, "WARNING: So soft you might take off all your clothes and wrap up in it so try it on in the privacy of your own home." You think I'm kidding.

If it's any indication how much I love it, the temps reach the mid 80's in the afternoon here and I'm still wearing it. Pregnancy hot flashes and all.

Is that not the perfect Fall ensemble?

Lucky for you, Mary is sweet enough to offer one of you ladies your very own handmade, fabric from Heaven, scarf from her shop. To whomever wins.... remember my warning.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

  25. Oh dear, I'm not sure if my first comment went through. So, again, I love all the colors of scarves in the shop! So hard to choose. And also, check out ON online maternity selection. Much better than in store and they always have some sort of special going on!! And also check out TJ Maxx and Ross's maternity selection. It's usually pretty small, but you can score great things for cheap!

  30. I have always wondered why maternity clothes are always so expensive. I have wondered if that's why places like Target don't have a good selection. I wonder if they've ever put out a statement on why or anything. All types of questions! haha I found myself getting super frustrated while trying to shop for my best friend when she was pregnant and just wound up gifting other things. I guess thank heavens for Jessica Simpson! And Mary too, that scarf is lovely! Awesome giveaway. x
