Diary Of A Pregnant Gal || Week 18

10.08.2014

Whoa.

Week 18 is upon me. Where in the H-E-Double hockey sticks did the last 4 months go? I'm entering my 5th month of pregnancy!

Mind blown.

What's even more exciting is the fact that we leave on Friday morning for our Charleston babymoon! Helloooo sunshine, ocean and 5 days of being a beach bum.

Due Date | March 12th, 2015

Size | Baby is the size of a can of Coca-Cola!

Name | I have a confession. The girls name we have picked may have changed... again. I've been back and forth with two names and the only thing holding me back is the fact that I've heard one of the names before. And I like different names I've never heard... that's where my ridiculous problem lies. My goal is to have a decision made by the 26th so in case it's a girl we can announce it then.

Feeling | I feel great. My energy is up and I'm just enjoying all the joys of pregnancy. I truly LOVE being pregnant and sharing this amazing experience. God is good, y'all. This is His creation.

Hormones | No tears this week. I feel like that calls for a celebration!

Workouts | Nope. It's been rainy for the last few days meaning during my free time (aka never) I curl up beside the fireplace and snuggle instead of working out. The lack of motivation I have for physical activity is sad.

Weight | 1lb gain. I seriously don't know how this is possible with all the food I eat.

Body | My belly is shooting out all of a sudden! It came out of nowhere and I really do adore looking down and not being able to see my toes anymore. On the negative side, my butt bone huuuurts. It makes it kind of impossible to sit down. I guess this is because of my melon sized uterus pushing on my buttock area. Talk about pain. Other than that I feel great and I'm feeling baby moving more and more and I love it! Whenever I feel him moving I try to sit down and be as still as possible to feel it more and of course he quits. Stubborn like his momma! (Yes I said he, I'm still 99.9% positive.)

Clothing | My maternity jeans are fabulous and leggings are still #winning in my book.

Sleep | I'm sleeping like a baby - pun intended. I'm completely used to waking up to pee and I swear I don't even actually wake up anymore. I'm not even sure I open my eyes. It's a true talent.

Appetite | Hot buffalo wings. I'm starting to wonder if I will ever desire sweets again. I baked my mother-in-law some cupcakes for her birthday (amazing recipe to come tomorrow) and the thought of eating one grossed me out. I've never been a cake eater, but I totally would have devoured the icing before in a heartbeat. #weird

Missing | Being able to breathe normally. I've been having shortness of breathe after doing something as simple as putting on my pants or shaving my legs. I read it happens because of my expanding uterus pushing on my lungs creating a lack of breathe. More pregnancy goodness :)

Fun Fact | Baby is starting to hiccup!

Best Moment of The Week | People reaching out to touch my baby bump. I know it's weird to like having people reach out and touch my stomach, but really I'm just happy to know I actually look pregnant enough now that even strangers are willing to risk asking when I'm due.

  7. I wouldn't stress yourself out over the name. But.. I know what you mean. I'm paranoid my boy name will be popular by the time I actually want to use it! I've also heard of parents looking at their child when it's born and totally deciding that the name they picked doesn't "fit" the baby.. I'm more scared of that!

  9. I'm so glad you mentioned the zombie-peeing, hahaha. I told my husband the other day that we need to get a nightlight for our bathroom because I almost fell during my half-awake trek to the bathroom! I am SO sick of the interrupted sleep, but guess I need to get used to it again anyway! :) Glad your energy is back and praying that your pain goes away--that's a bummer!!

  10. It's so fun to read your journey to motherhood and the changes that are going on with you. I love the fact that you used a coke can to describe your baby's size and not fruit. Love it!
