New Year, New You

12.31.2014
I know each year we tend to make resolutions that we don't stick to because let's face it, 365 days is a long time to stick with something! And we all know what the most common resolution is.... and all the people said, "weightloss".

I've really told you nothing you don't already know at this point, right? Although this year I am not making any resolutions I am going to be joining Tone It Up for their 6 week #LoveYourBody Series starting January 1st until Valentine's Day. It's a challenge to learn to love your body and shape up from now until that special day so when you get a ginormous box of specialty chocolates (hint, hint hubby) you can devour them guilt free!

I have talked about Tone It Up before and how much I adore Karena and Katrina and the program they have created! It's an amazing community of women who will inspire and uplift you daily. Plus I'm always looking for ways to stay motivated and an online community is perfect for that!

Although I am not doing this to necessarily "get in shape", I mean hellooooo baby bump, but I am doing it to create a healthier mommy and baby leading up to Maddox's birth in March and also so I have a faster recovery and post-partum weightloss won't be so difficult.

So I hope you'll be inspired to create a happier you in 2015 starting with what you put into your body and how you treat it. I'm sharing one of my favorite smoothie recipes with you today to give you a little boost. I love this recipe because not only is it nutritious and made with natural ingredients, but it's delicious! That's called #winning my friends.

 Mixed Berry Boost

• 1/2 cup mixed berries (I use the frozen bag of blackberries, cherries and strawberries)
• 1 handful of kale
• 1/2 frozen, peeled banana
• 1 cup of Naked Green Juice (you can use water, milk, soymilk, or coconut water in substitution, but the juice will help sweeten your smoothie best)
** If you are working out and would like to add a scoop of protein powder to this that's a great way to get added protein to refuel your muscles.

Blend until it's the consistency you prefer :)

Get involved with the Tone It Up community here if you haven't before. Also I'd love it if you would tweet me and tell me if you are planning on doing the #LoveYourBody challenge so we can inspire each other :) @themoderntulip

Have a safe and Happy New Year, babes! Let's make 2015 the best! Xoxo

  4. I love those girls too! Good for you girl :) I don't have any major resolutions either for 2015. I love using green juice in my daily smoothies too, I usually do half that and half almond milk. So good! Happy new year sweet friend <3

  5. I'm also planning on participating in that challenge! I think it's so important to focus on being healthy, happy, and full of energy rather than "losing weight." Happy New Year to you!

  9. Hi, My wife and I have been married for 15 years. For over five years I have been dealing with jealousy issues because of flirting and her having emotional type affairs with other men. I felt like my masculinity was in question and if I said the way she was acting bothered me, it seemed to make matters worse or I was accused of being controling. During this period I did state I wanted a divorce if the behavior was not going to end: texting men a night, leaving for the weekend without letting me know where she was going or not responding to messages. We do have a son and basically it's been him and I for the last year on the weekends. She disconnected completely from being a good wife and mother. In April she said she wanted a separation and I said no we need to get into marriage counseling. We did try that, but she was not very responsive and didn't give any effort. Afterward she was adamant about separation and divorce. I continued to say no and that we needed to save our family. She presented a separation agreement and I had to hire a lawyer. Because of the above behavior my lawyer suggested a private investigator. The investigator discovered my wife was having an affair with a close friend of the family who also is married with children. We know the extended families. I feel like I should tell this man's wife about what happened. This adultery has devastated me emotionally, I feel betrayed and I'm physically drained. I know my wife is passionate in terms of her sexuality, and I can't get the thought of them out of my head. It makes me question my own manhood, and I feel very inferior or that he must be a better lover or what ever. The problem is my wife pursued him. She would go to him and she lured him into this adultery. I felt this was coming for some time and could not stop it. She was not only lying to me but also to our son about what she was doing and where she was going. My family is important, my son loves her and as crazy as it sounds so do I. Can you respond with a course of action on how to proceed? I was still have a very huge place in my heart for her. so i searched for help online and I came across a website that suggested that Dr Ahmed can help solve marital problems, restore broken relationships and so on. So I felt I should give him a try. I contacted him and he told me what to do and i did it then he did a spell for me. 28 hours later, my wife came to me and apologized for the wrongs she did and promise never to do it again. Ever since then, everything has returned back to normal. I, my son and my wife are living together happily again.. All thanks to Dr Ahmed. as it is a place to resolve marriage/relationship issues, do you want to be sure if your spouse is being faithful to you or Do you want your Ex to come back to you Contact.: E-mail: Ahmedutimate@gmail.com or call/Whats-app: +2348160153829 save your crumbling home and change of grades its 100% safe.
