The Creative Closet || Pretty In Pink

1.13.2015

Fact: I despised the color pink growing up. Practically until I got married I refused to buy it or wear it and I swore if I had a daughter I would never dress her in it! And then all of a sudden I hit my early twenties and turned extremely girly. Now pink is one of my favorite colors especially paired with white and gold. Although I'm not one to prefer hot pink in my clothing, I do love a good blush, if you couldn't tell from my outfit choice for today! I prefer to leave the bright, bold pinks to my lips, accessories or a bouquet of flowers :)

One of my favorite ways to dress the shade blush is with the color olive. I feel like they compliment each other so well and work perfectly for Winter or Spring. When I received these cropped pants from Pink Blush I knew this was the first outfit combo I would make. I'd also love to swap this shirt out with a chambray button up for a classic look.

I can't wait to see your "Pretty In Pink" looks so make sure to link up below!

  1. I definitely would have never guessed that you were anti-pink growing up! My favorite version of pink is fuchsia--like the color of your lipstick in these shots!

  2. You are gorgeous in this blush color. I love it and with one post, you've convinced me that I need to add it to my wardrobe. I'm not a pink person {my one pink item made today's photoshoot} but that is a great neutral. And your bump is perfectly styled!

  4. Ooh I love the blush pink top and jacket contrasted with your bright pink lips, that's such a pretty combination! I've always been a pink-lover, but I never thought I could wear blush pink since I'm so pale. Now I really love it!

  6. I wish I could wear blush but it washes me out! I'm so pale and DO NOT tan... not even fake tan. My skin just says NO! LOL! You are super cute! And I love the cardigan you paired with your outfit!

  7. I was the exact same way about pink growing up! It wasn't until my junior year of high school that I found a pale pink prom dress that I absolutely loved and changed my mind - now it's one of my go-to colors! I never would think to pair blush and olive together - great thinking!

  9. I love that you went two ways with this prompt! And speaking of lip color, I LOVE yours. Definitely putting that color on my list of lipsticks to buy. :)

  10. I absolutely LOVE your cardigan from Pink Blush. They are one of my favorite shops. I'm excited to get pregnant now because of all of their options in their maternity line! And I absolutely love your lip color. I get nervous wearing bright lipsticks because I've always worn more nude/neutral colors. I think you have me convinced to start going bright :)

  13. I am so with you, I LOVE mixing pinks and purples with olive - that was what I did for the very first outfit I linked up for the creative closet! That aztec sweater is amazing, it looks so cozy and chic!

  14. I never would have thought of olive with blush - but it's awesome! :) Love the outfit, and are you not in love with your Aztec cardigan? I can't seem to take mine off - thankfully it has black in the pattern ;)

  16. This is so pretty! I absolutely love blush too. My wedding dress was actually cream and blush instead of white white. I loved it! I would never think to pair it with olive! I love that idea! :) I go back and forth. I never liked pink much either... but now I seem to quite a bit! It depends on the day for me. Some days I like neutrals or more monochromatic looks, other times I like brights. :) XO -Alexandra
