Can I Even Still Call Myself A Blogger?

6.10.2015

I've contemplated quitting the blog for the last couple of weeks. You can blame that cute face above for taking up all my time! Or you can blame me for wanting to spend all my time snuggling that face and kissing his nose 1,000 times a day. I've been so hard on myself about not blogging at all (with the exception of Tuesdays for The Creative Closet) that I've gotten discouraged so many times.

I can come up with 101 reasons why I shouldn't blog, but every time I actually think about quitting... I just can't.

Because down deep I love it. I love the community. I love my readers (if you still exist). I love writing. I love taking pictures. I love documenting. I love having my own space to say and share whatever I feel like. It's like my getaway when I can actually get here.

So I hope y'all don't mind, but I'm going to continue to call myself a blogger and show up here as much as possible to share my chaotic life, outfits and sweet baby boy. And if I still have any readers, please know I completely adore you and I'm so thankful for your support and friendship, especially throughout social media!

Sending lots of love your way! Xxx

  3. Glad to hear that you're not leaving us, but obviously that sweet face that your baby boy has comes first on the priority list! Don't be so hard on yourself, friend - you're doing the best you can, and that's all that matters!

  4. I love that you're still blogging, even if it's more sporadic now. As life shifts and changes, so should your space. Don't quit just because you aren't blogging 5x a week like you once did. Your life isn't what it was.

  7. You have a legitimate reason not to be blogging multiple times a week. :) He is worth it! You will find a new balance. I struggle to blog even once a week very frequently, no baby in tow. You are doing awesome. :) XO -Alexandra

  8. Girl, we aren't going anywhere and you don't have to explain anything :) Blog when you feel like it, that's it! Over the last several months I had the same issues, contemplating on should I quit because I can't seem to find the time or want to blog. I decided to remove ALL pressure and just simply blog when I feel like it, when I have something I want to share. I might blog 10 times a month then skip a month, but I'm not going to worry about it. I needed to enjoy my husband and take some time to relax on my weekends, it's really helped me. You need to enjoy those snuggles ALL you can <3

  9. There are no blogging rule! Follow your own schedule and post when you want to. You SHOULD be taking some time off right now to soak up every minute with the baby. I go back and forth on blogging so much as well, especially as I get ready to be a mother and I think about privacy and time and what it all means. :) I'll still be here checking in!

  11. Don't quit!! :) We're still here! My blog is 110% only about me and my pregnancy right now and you know what.. if people don't want to read that, then they don't have to! I want to remember stuff, which is the only reason I blog!

  12. Keep on bloggin'. I love your blog. Sometimes life gets in the way, it's true that life often gets in the way of many things but if we stopped doing everything b/c of that then what exactly would we be doing? I find tons of inspiration in your blog and social media :)

  14. Oh girl I hear you. I am the worlds worst blogger lately, I've thought about throwing in the towel so many times in the last few months... but I do love the community and have just stopped being so hard on myself. I blog when I feel like it, and when I don't... I don't ;) Enjoy your time with your little man... babies don't keep :)

  16. Take the time!! Mommy time with them when they're so little is limited, enjoy it! I've only blogged 18 times since my newest was born 4 months ago lol. Eventually it will get into a 'new' normal schedule!

  17. Of course you're a blogger! It's okay if you don't blog as much, do what you can and enjoy this time. But also don't feel guilty for not spending every moment with the little one (I know how hard it can be), because keeping things in your life that you love (blogging for you, golf for me) is healthy and wonderful. A happy mom is a happy baby and home.

  18. We can be so hard on ourselves as bloggers, but real life has to come first! Baby & hubby are higher on the priority list and it's important you get to really enjoy the time you spend with them! It's hard for me not to stress sometimes, but I find when I do it robs me both of the joy of blogging (which is why I do it in the first place!) AND the joy of spending time on other important things, so really it's just better to take a breath and let things fall into place. You're a new mom, obviously things have changed, but you'll find a new routine that works for you! Readers are people and we are here for YOU!

  19. I felt so guilty when I was pregnant and when I first had my son because I wasn't blogging consistently...or even at all. Now that I look back on it I feel like that ended up being ok. It was a time in my life when I had a lot going on and blogging had to take the back burner.

Once my son was a couple months old I finally felt like I was ready to jump back into blogging. I found it to be something I could do for myself. I missed writing, taking photos and all the aspects that come along with blogging. I just had to reprioritze my life and figure out what I wanted to keep and what wasn't important to me anymore.

I really hope you do keep blogging because I love reading your posts, but if you find that it isn't worth your time and energy then by all means set it aside. Life changes, especially with kids and it's important to do what's best for you and your family!

  21. I just wanted to say I'm still here and PLEASE don't worry at all. I totally understand how you feel and I've been there before. I took a pretty long break from blogging when I was pregnant and after my son was born. I just felt like I had no time to give. But eventually life settled down and I found myself missing blogging and wanting to get back into it, and I'm so glad I did. You just have to do what's best for you, and from what I've seen the blogging community totally gets that and we'll still be here! Take care! I'll look forward to reading when you do post!
