My Blog Vision Heading Into 2016

12.15.2015

The fact that December is over in two weeks has my mind already thinking into the new year. I'm excited to see what 2016 will bring for our family. What new milestones Maddox will reach. What the future of our business looks like. And what new ventures this blog will dabbling into.

I've been thinking a lot about my blog a lot lately and I definitely have a vision for it. I always want my blog to be relatable, but I also want to be passionate and enjoy what I'm sharing so that I continue to have a desire to show up here. If I'm enjoying it, y'all with hopefully enjoy it! When I narrow down what I love, it really comes down to mamahood/family life and style/fashion. Those are the two things that I love and both of which encompass me and my daily life.

So with that said...

MY VISION for 2016:

I plan to continue sharing my style through fashion posts. But specifically I want to share styles that are affordable, creative and mom friendly. It may seem silly, but I am passionate about dressing well because I feel like there is a stigma that moms loose themselves after kids. That yoga pants and top knots are the new uniform and makeup only happens on a good day. And don't get me wrong, I get that. And it's true in my life some days, but not every day. I love clothes and makeup and just because I have a little man skipping his naps and putting his mashed banana in my hair doesn't mean I can't make an effort towards my appearance.

So to all you moms AND ladies in general who feel stuck in a fashion rut or like it's just not possible to get yourself together, I'm coming for YOU. I want to show you simple, fashionable looks are achievable and practical. And don't forget affordable. Nothing is worse than seeing an outfit I love and clicking on the links only to find out the sweater is $80 and the jeans are $120. I hate that. So I plan on being conscience and only linking items that I would spend my money on.

And then of course I plan on sharing my life with you because that's how so many of us met and related. Being a wife and mother has been my dream since I was a little girl and now my dreams have come true. I love to share updates on Maddox and what's happening in our little family. Or the everyday chaos of life. Let's face it, I share it with y'all in hopes to feel normal. Like I'm not the only one going through it. But I also hope you find something you can relate to also :)

So my vision for my blog is to really focus on bringing those two together. If you have any suggestions or requests I would love, love, looove to hear them. I blog for me, but I also blog with YOU in mind.

I hope you'll come along with me into 2016. I have exciting plans for this blog! Thank you for your readership and friendship the last two years here. I'm so grateful for each and every one of you. So grateful I wish I could give you a big squeeze!

  5. Even though I don't have children yet, I feel like that "loosing yourself" stigma follows as soon as you get married too! I feel like women are looked at as someone who just fell apart because their spouse will love them any way. I believe in getting ready every day and making yourself look and feel good :)

  6. Hi Maegen! I started following you/blog when you were pregnant - you were just a couple weeks a head of me. I also had a son. I love seeing your super cute son grow and your fun outfits. Happy holidays!

  7. Yay! I'm excited to see what you have to bring in 2016! I love your fashion posts for the reasons you listed above, they are relatable and affordable for a busy mom or just anyone who loves clothes in general. I also agree, I follow a few high end fashion blogs and I always get so bummed when the dress I'm drooling over is $800! #nothappening

  17. yeah, girl! When I first got pregnant and was trying to keep this exciting (yet nauseous) secret, your blog was the first place I went because I knew you had posted weekly updates throughout your pregnancy. I loved learning from you. Keep sharing your life and we'll all learn from each other:
