Motherhood || My Bags Are Packed

pink bag

I feel like I have a much better grasp this time around on what I really need to take with me to the hospital. With Maddox (you can see what I packed here) I feel like I over did it because I was a first time mom without a clue!

Now I've packed a little more minimally and included things I didn't the first time, but I wished I had. Most importantly, pack items that will make YOU feel comfortable and at peace to make birth and the rest of your hospital stay as lovely as possible.

Now I just need Baby Girl to get this show on the road!!! Her due date is Friday!

Also, I am planning on having another vaginal delivery so you may need other necessities for a c-section. Keep that in mind, but the hospital does provide you with quite a bit that you need for post birth self care. Make sure to ask your nurses for extras to take home.

For me
  • robe
  • socks
  • $1 flip flops
  • comfy clothes
  • coming home outfit
  • nursing bras
  • nursing pads
  • disposable granny panties (I swear these are the worst part, but come in handy!)
  • toiletries (makeup remover wipes, lip balm, hair ties, shamp/cond, body wash, deodorant, toothbrush/paste, minimal makeup and my ride or die, rosehip oil spray! I get so dry in the hospital I used this spray to perk myself up a bit).
  • ipad
  • bluetooth speaker
  • chargers
  • snacks. With Maddox I had back labor and contractions for 19 hours before they finally broke my water. Snacks come in handy (lara bars, crackers, trail mix) and your favorite candies (gum, chewy candies)
  • mini bottle of champagne (this is a celebration y'all!)
For Jon
  • his toiletries
  • pillow
  • change of clothes
  • pj's
  • slippers
For Baby Girl
  • swaddle blankets
  • paci
  • diapers/wipes
  • onesies
  • socks/hat
  • bows!!!!!!!!
  • coming home outfit
  • coming home blanket
  • car seat
  • insurance/hospital paperwork
  • birth plan
  • nurses gifts. This is what I gave last year with Maddox and the ladies loved it! This year I plan on taking homemade cookies (since I'm a professional cookie baker now) in cute little boxes I found in the Target dollar section many moons ago. I have the dough frozen into balls, ready to be baked!
